When young innovators meet supportive professionals, ideas are born that have the power to change the world.
We had the pleasure of being part of the seventh edition of Hack AUBG, organized by the student club The Hub at the American University in Bulgaria (AUBG). This year’s hackathon theme was "Space and Aerospace Innovation", giving participants the chance to unleash their creativity in the field of space technology.
🌟 Our role at the event
Weband actively took part in the event by providing financial support for the organizers and the club, as well as merch for all participants, including branded folders and pens. Our goal was to help create a pleasant and inspiring atmosphere for everyone involved and to support the students behind the organization of the hackathon.
Our own Daniel Lidianov joined as a mentor, offering guidance and advice to teams throughout the weekend. Participants were able to book one-on-one sessions with mentors of their choice to help them validate and shape their ideas.
On site were also Evygenia Tosheva and Antonio Pavlov, who represented Weband as brand representatives, supporting the participants and sharing our vision for innovation and collaboration.

🛰️ 48 hours of space-born innovation
The event brought together 16 teams, made up of students from AUBG and other universities across Bulgaria. Over the course of 48 hours, they worked to develop innovative projects in the field of space technologies. Some of the standout ideas included:
A Mars life simulation – a project exploring the possibility of creating sustainable living conditions on the Red Planet.
A team of AI agents – a system powered by artificial intelligence to coordinate tasks in space missions.
Drones for detecting people in low-signal areas – technology with life-saving potential for rescue operations.
A fully functional space ranger prototype – a device designed for maintenance and repair missions on space stations.
These projects showcased not only technical skills, but also creativity, teamwork, and real-world problem solving.
💬 Impressions and inspiration
Our participation in Hack AUBG 7.0 was truly inspiring. Witnessing the students’ energy, dedication, and collaborative spirit reaffirmed our belief that the future of technology is being built today – by young people with bold ideas and a drive to make a difference.
We’d like to thank the organizers at The Hub for the invitation and the outstanding coordination of the event. It was an honor to be part of this initiative and support the next generation of innovators.
